What they say

The idea generation step within system design (PSS) is the most critical one in the development processes. It is because, after all, we do need new ideas to create new system solutions. Any kind of creativity tools can be used for PSS idea generation, but those well-known tools such as brainstorming etc. are rather too commonly used, thus, people do not find the methods particularly new and interesting. In that sense, Play Rethink was a highly effective tool to ignite group discussions and collaborative creativity, because it was new to all the participants. The values of the tool are manifold, but the best part was to create the positive, free, fun-full atmosphere and mood of participants to come up with creative ideas. Yet, with the structure (strategies for sustainable design) of Play Rethink, conversations do not get lost or wasted. Dr. Myung-Joo Kang, Design for Green Growth course, GrAT - Center for Appropriate Technology, Vienna, September 2010.
